The story behind Excess Capital

Excess Capital was formed from firsthand experience building companies from the ground up. We have started and been deeply involved in multiple ventures, navigating the early realities of limited resources, incomplete information, and the uncertainty that comes with building something from nothing. Those challenges shaped how we think about business, growth, and the importance of access—to knowledge, capital, and the right people at the right time.

As those companies matured, a different problem emerged. Success brought capital, but little clarity on how to deploy it well. Knowing how to build a business did not automatically translate into knowing how to invest, preserve, and compound wealth responsibly. At the same time, we saw experienced investors facing a similar challenge—seeking differentiated access, trusted networks, and disciplined opportunities in increasingly complex markets. Excess Capital exists to solve both sides of that journey.

We work with founders at the beginning of their path, operators scaling businesses, and seasoned investors deploying capital across private and public markets.
